Violet Barks Johnson Bollinger, 86, of Cape Girardeau passed away Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2011, at Saint Francis Medical Center.

She was born Dec. 30, 1924, in Cape Girardeau, to John L. Barks and Ruby A. Johnson. She first married Willard Johnson in 1946. He preceded her in death Nov. 21, 1987. She then married Cletus Bollinger in 1992.

She was an avid card player and enjoyed traveling locally. As a young adult she worked at Florsheim Shoe Co. and later worked for Drury Co.

Survivors include her husband, Cletus Bollinger of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Pam Haupt of Cape Girardeau, Patricia Johnson of Cape Girardeau; two nieces, Gail (Jim) Gosche of Jackson, Judith (Frank) Criddle of Cape Girardeau; and a nephew, Douglas (Diane) Sebaugh of Jackson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, and a sister.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the chapel, with the Rev. Jerry Bailey officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.
