CAIRO, Ill. -- Viola Victoria Stuart, 71, of Cairo died Monday, Nov. 25, 1996, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
She was born Feb. 10, 1925, in Wetaug, daughter of Charles and Zella Sowers DeWitt. She married William R. Stuart.
Stuart was a retired seamstress, and member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Viola Scheffer of Paducah, Ky., Esther Laird of Bismarck, Mo., Carolyn Stuart of St. Louis; three sons, Arthur Poole and Richard Stuart of Cairo, Earl Stuart of Nashville, Tenn.; a half brother, Russell Keller of Kankakee; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo after 5 p.m. Friday.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Chris Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery at Wetaug.
