Viola C. Ruch, 93, of Jackson died Monday, Jan. 7, 2019, at Ratliff Care Center.
She was born Oct. 15, 1925, in Yount, Missouri, to Thomas and Hallie Keller Statler. She and Flavian Ruch were married June 16, 1942. He preceded her in death June 15, 1971. She then married William Lander. He preceded her in death in July 1986.
She worked at Florsheim Shoe in Cape Girardeau and Peavey Barge Lines as a cook.
Viola loved reading the Bible and quoting Scriptures. She had a passion for gardening.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson.
Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Patricia Ruch of Jackson; a sister, Wilma Flowers of Millersville; a grandchild, John R. (Heather) Ruch; and four great-grandchildren, Ethan, Krystin, Mallory and Thomas Ruch.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; son, Larry Flavian Ruch; brother, Tommy Statler; sister, Mae Hinkle; and grandson, Christopher Larry Ruch.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., with parish prayers at 7 p.m., Thursday at Ford and Sons Funeral Home in Jackson.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with the Rev. John Harth officiating. Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
