Viola E. Putz, 90, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, Nov. 13, 1999, at the Chateau Girardeau Nursing Care Center. She was born Oct. 18, 1909, at Kurreville, daughter of Henry M. and Albinnie Clingingsmith Kurre. She and Dillman Putz were married Sept. 22, 1929...

Viola E. Putz, 90, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, Nov. 13, 1999, at the Chateau Girardeau Nursing Care Center.

She was born Oct. 18, 1909, at Kurreville, daughter of Henry M. and Albinnie Clingingsmith Kurre. She and Dillman Putz were married Sept. 22, 1929.

She was a member of Emanuel United Church of Christ at Jackson. She had worked as a telephone operator for the Jackson Telephone exchange and the former Cape County Savings Bank. She and her husband had lived in Sun City, Ariz., before moving to Jackson in 1992 and Cape Girardeau in 1997.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Barbara Loyd of Cadiz, Ky. and Nancy Kettner of Virginia Beach, Va.; a sister, Hazel Miller of Jackson; a brother, Dean Walker of Jackson; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by a sister.

Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at McCombs Funeral Home at Jackson.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The Revs. Sam Roethemeyer and Paul Kettner will officiate, with burial to follow at Russell Heights Cemetery at Jackson.
