MOUND CITY, Ill. -- Vina Murphy Tapley, 79, of Mound City, died Monday, March 7, 1994, at Daystar Care Center in Cairo. She was born April 14, 1914, in Mounds, daughter of Thomas and Viola Miller Reno. She first married Raymond Murphy, who preceded her in death. MOUND CITY, Ill. -- Vina Murphy Tapley, 79, of Mound City, died Monday, March 7, 1994, at Daystar Care Center in Cairo.

She was born April 14, 1914, in Mounds, daughter of Thomas and Viola Miller Reno. She first married Raymond Murphy, who preceded her in death. She later married Homer Tapley, who also preceded her in death.

Tapley was a retired beautician, and attended the Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Peggy Parks of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; four sons, Donald Murphy of Tamms, Lyle "Tiny" Murphy of Olmsted, Leon Murphy of Cape Girardeau, Mo., Robert Murphy of Garden Plain, Kan.; 16 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Barkett Funeral Home in Mound City after 5 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bill Gholson officiating. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery at Grand Chain.
