JONESBORO, Ill. -- Villa Bernice Armour, 91, of Alton, Ill., formerly of Jonesboro, died Tuesday, July 29, 2003, at St. Anthony Medical Center in Alton. She was born Nov. 6. 1911, in Alto Pass, Ill., daughter of James C. and Rose Etta Stone Smith. She and Fred L. Armour were married in 1928 at Cobden, Ill...

JONESBORO, Ill. -- Villa Bernice Armour, 91, of Alton, Ill., formerly of Jonesboro, died Tuesday, July 29, 2003, at St. Anthony Medical Center in Alton.

She was born Nov. 6. 1911, in Alto Pass, Ill., daughter of James C. and Rose Etta Stone Smith. She and Fred L. Armour were married in 1928 at Cobden, Ill.

Survivors include two sons, Freddie Armour of Joliet, Ill., Everett Armour of Fond du Lac, Wis.; four daughters, Francis Hileman and Peggy Orzel of Alton, Beverly George of Godfrey, Ill., Judy Lamb of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; two sisters, Norma Wilson of Dongola, Ill., Audrey Smith of Anna, Ill.; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter and a son.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today and until service time Friday at Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Carl Land officiating. Burial will be in Jonesboro Cemetery.
