THEBES, Ill. -- Vida Mildred Miller, 76, died Wednesday, July 27, 2011, at Saint Francis Medical Center.
She was born July 17, 1935, in Pope County, Ill., to James and Editha (Medley) Jeffords. She married Roger Kent Miller on July 22, 1962. He preceded her in death Sept. 6, 2009.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Thebes.
She is survived by two daughters, Bonnie (Mike) Smith of Cape Girardeau and Sherry (Don) Smith of Thebes; four brothers, Danny Jeffords and Mike Jeffords, both of Brookport, Ill., Tommy Jeffords of Louisiana and David Jeffords of Metropolis, Ill.; six sisters, Wilma Carroll of Paducah, Ky., Joanie Klankley of Brookport, Ill., LaRita Clark of Karnak, Ill., Sharon Armstrong of Metropolis, Ill., Mary Cox of Golconda, Ill., and Laura Eison of Florida; nine grandchildren, Kenny, Heather, Amanda, John, Tonika, Courtney, Matthew, Jackie and Chris; and twelve great-grandchildren, Trevor, Kaima, Andrew, Madison, Tyler, Trey, David, Carter, Tyler, Parker, Harrison and Will; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband; and three brother, Gary, Charles and Jimmy Jeffords.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms, Ill.
The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Terry Mejean and Rev. Ray McAfee officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Zion Cemetery in Olive Branch, Ill.
Memorials can be made to the American Heart Association and will be accepted at the funeral home.
