OLMSTED, Ill. -- Victor H. Taylor Sr., 66, of Olmsted died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2001, at his home. He was born March 22, 1934, in Cairo, Ill., son of Sanford and Gertrude Mitchell Taylor. OLMSTED, Ill. -- Victor H. Taylor Sr., 66, of Olmsted died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2001, at his home.

He was born March 22, 1934, in Cairo, Ill., son of Sanford and Gertrude Mitchell Taylor. He and Mary Lou Foster were married Feb. 4, 1957.

Taylor attended First Baptist Church in Mound City, Ill. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was formerly of Mound City.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Victor Taylor Jr. of Olmsted; two daughters, Brenda Adams of Olmsted, Mary Thomas of Kentucky; a sister, Rosemary Boulet of Olmsted; and several grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call at Barkett Funeral Home in Mound City after 6 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mound City National Cemetery.
