Alice Sue “Vicki” Statler, 81, of Cape Girardeau passed away Thursday, Aug. 10, 2017, at her home.
She was born Jan. 9, 1936, the daughter of Webster Clyde and Ada Robinson Smith in Jackson. She and Charles “Jack” Statler were married June 1, 1957, in Jackson.
Vicki was a graduate of Jackson High School and a member of New McKendree United Methodist Church in Jackson.
She worked as a clerk in the Cape Girardeau Municipal Court for over 30 years.
Gardening and bird watching were her favorite activities. She had a friendly, helpful spirit and was generous with what little she had.
Loving survivors include two sons, Darby Statler of Cape Girardeau and Mark and his wife Helen Statler of Florida; two sisters, Jean Seabaugh and Mary Marshall, and a sister-in-law, Coleen Smith, all of Jackson.
Also surviving is a grandson, Dylan and his wife Madison Statler; and a great-grandson, Mason
Statler.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Charles Statler Jr.; three sisters, Dee Williams, Thelma Himmelsbach and Naomi Crites; and a brother, Joe Smith.
There will be no service. Vicki’s wishes were to be cremated.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to Teen Challenge Mid-America or the Humane Society of Southeast Missouri.
