Vicente Dimarucot Picar graduated into glory Thursday, Oct. 3, 2019, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

He was born Jan. 22, 1947, to Col. Federico Picar and Angelita Dimarucot in Manila, Philippines. Picar graduated from Union High School in Manila. He married Cynthia C. Flores on May 19, 1969 in Manila.

In 1970, Vic and his family moved to Overland Park, Kansas.

In 1979, he took the opportunity to establish the Roto-Rooter franchise of Cape Girardeau. For 40 years, Picar served as one of the most trusted and respected proprietors due to his friendliness, honesty, integrity and the quality of his work. He put two children through college, kept a roof overhead, food on the table and genuinely valued his customers and employees.

Vic valued faith and family above everything else. He was a member of Lynwood Baptist Church and previously served on the deacon board and steering committee of the former Christ Evangelical Presbyterian Church.

He loved watching his grandchildren play lacrosse, baseball and gymnastics. He enjoyed sharing morning coffee with friends at Burger King. Vic was a history enthusiast, connoisseur of travel and cuisine and enjoyed watching "Jeopardy" and St. Louis Cardinals baseball.
