ANNISTON -- Vester M. "Stud" Steward, 74, of Anniston died Saturday, Nov. 16, 1996, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
He was born Dec. 15, 1921, in the Henson community near Anniston, the son of Jobe M. and Florence Jones Steward. He married Mary A. Myrick.
Steward was a retired construction worker and carpenter. He lived most of his life in Anniston and was of the Protestant faith.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Jeannie Thurman and Sharon Harvell, both of Anniston; five sisters, Zelma "Jack" Macko of Kansas City, Lela Brokaw of Granite City, Ill., Ora B. Cooper of Rockford, Ill., Betty Gray of Cairo, Ill., and Earline Petty of Charleston; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters.
Friends may call after 4:30 p.m. today at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with Martin Lucas officiating. Burial will follow in Anniston Cemetery.
