Vervlee Coleman, 79, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, March 14, 2005, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

She was born Dec. 10, 1925, in Missouri, daughter of John and Georgia Clark Smith. She and Dave Coleman were married in July 1944 at Osceola, Ark. He died in 1976.

Coleman had worked as a housekeeper and was a member of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include a sister, Melvonia Parrow of Cape Girardeau, and a brother, Andrew Ruffin of Cape Girardeau. Mrs. Coleman had no children of her own, but raised Earnestine Parrow of St. Louis.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

Friends may call at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church from 10 a.m. to service time Friday.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Johnny Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.
