VERSIE A. MARTIN

MARBLE HILL -- Versie A. Martin, 79, of Marble Hill, died Wednesday, Aug. 19, 1992, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Aug. 13, 1913, at Bessville, daughter of William F. and Nellie Goodson Underwood. She and Frank Martin were married Sept. 24, 1937.

The Martins moved here in 1988 from Jackson. She was a member of Marble Hill First Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Irma Cumpton of St. Louis; two sisters, Ethel Whitener of St. Louis, Dell Smith of Marble Hill, and two granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by a brother and sister.

Friends may call at Liley Funeral Home here after 3 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The Rev. Fred Ritter will officiate, with burial in Old Trace Creek Cemetery near Glen Allen.
