Vernon Guth
FESTUS, Mo. -- Vernon H. Guth, 88, of Festus, formerly of Cape Girardeau, died Oct. 23, 2008, at his home.
He was born Feb. 8, 1920, at Raddle, Ill., son of Otto and Paula Fuehler Guth. He and Jacqueline Schaefer Guth were married.
Guth was president and owner of Guth Bros. Block and Brick Co. of Cape Girardeau for 27 years, retiring in 1973. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Festus, Mo., and the Elks Club.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Margaret Pfeiffer of Jackson and Laverne Krauss of Perryville, Mo.; a son, Richard Guth of Nashville, Tenn.; a sister, Wanda Eichkoff of Raleigh, N.C.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Private graveside services will be held in Jackson.
Mahn Twin City Chapel in Festus is in charge of the arrangements.
