SIKESTON, Mo. -- Vernice Wilson, 83, of Sikeston died Sunday, March 10, 2002, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
She was born Jan. 7, 1919, in Hagarville, Ark., daughter of James H. and Orla Rowbotham Freed. She and Guy Wilson were married Oct. 23, 1938, in New Madrid, Mo.
Wilson was a member of Shady Acres Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Steven Wilson of Matthews, Mo., James Wilson of Houston, Texas; a daughter, Mary McPherson of Jacksonville, Fla.; a sister, Lou Walls of Fresno, Calif.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, two brothers, and a sister.
Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the chapel, with Pat Hogan officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
