Vernedia Alvina Blattel, 93, of Scott City died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012, at Chaffee Nursing Center.
She was born Nov. 14, 1918, at Kelso, Mo., to Franklin Riley and Anna Pauline Leible Raines. She married Paul Herbert "Butch" Blattel on Jan. 18, 1944, in Kelso. He preceded her in death March 25, 2004.
Vernedia was owner/operator of Raines-Blattel Dairy Farms. She loved playing bingo, euchre and pitch with family and friends.
Survivors include a brother, Joseph Raines, and a sister, Alene Heisserer, both of Scott City.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four brothers, Monroe, Alfred "Pete," Norman "Shorty," Lester Raines; and a sister, Bernice Raines.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the chapel, with the Rev. Jim Norris officiating. Burial will be in Lightner Memorial Cemetery.
