Verneda Glass, 65, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, June 7, 2007, at Kindred Hospital in St. Louis. She was born July 26, 1941, at LaForge, Mo., daughter of Dewey Rush and Artina McClerkin. She and Augustus "C. Boy" Glass were married Aug. 29, 1958...

Verneda Glass, 65, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, June 7, 2007, at Kindred Hospital in St. Louis.

She was born July 26, 1941, at LaForge, Mo., daughter of Dewey Rush and Artina McClerkin. She and Augustus "C. Boy" Glass were married Aug. 29, 1958.

While in LaForge she worked for Virginia Carpenter and for Head Start. She moved to Cape Girardeau in 1976, and had worked at Thorngate Ltd., and 25 years at Southeast Missouri Hospital, retiring in 2001. She attended New Bethel Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Rosalind Graham of St. Louis; two sons, Derrick and Gregory Glass of Cape Girardeau; three sisters, Mildred Rush and Helen Rush of Indianapolis, Ind., Flossie Cannon of St. Louis; three brothers, Walter Watson of Decatur, Ill., Dewey and Sylvester Rush of Cape Girardeau; 12 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister and a brother.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Friday at Rhema Word Church.

The funeral will be at noon Friday at the church, with Anthony Green, John Sinclair and Gary Lee officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.

Massie Funeral Home in Cairo, Ill., is in charge of arrangements.
