MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Vernadine Bollinger, 86, of Marble Hill passed away Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at Woodland Hills Nursing Home.
She was born Aug. 14, 1926, to L.L. and Lunda M. Yount Bridges Sr. She and John Henry Bollinger were married Nov. 22, 1949. He passed away Nov. 18, 1989.
Vernadine was postmaster and ran Bridges Store in Scopus, Mo. She was a member of Scopus United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, L.L. "Junior" and Eula Bridges of Scopus; nieces and nephews, Lee Ann Engelhardt of Lake St. Louis, Mo., Donna Lorenz of Festus, Mo., Larry Clingsmith of Casey, Ill., and L.L. "Bud" Bridges III of Scopus; and great-nieces and great-nephews, Lee, Diana and Dana Engelhardt of Lake St. Louis, Dustin and Devin Lorenz of Festus and Michelle Bridges of Scopus.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Louise Fogelsanger.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Jack Leslie and Karla Kiefer officiating. Burial will be in Cook Cemetery in Scopus.
