Verna Preston

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Verna Marie Preston, 82, of St. Peters, Mo., formerly of Perryville, died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2002, in St. Peters.

She was born Nov. 5, 1920, at Crosstown, Mo., daughter of Henry and Lydia Wadsworth Corse. She and Albert Preston were married April 13, 1941.

Preston was a member of First Baptist Church in Harvester, Mo.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Donna Chapin of St. Peters; a son, Terry Preston of Port Richey, Fla.; a brother, Malcolm Corse of St. Louis; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters and six brothers.

Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, and Friday from 6:30 to 10:15 a.m.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Bethlehem Baptist Church at Crosstown, with Dr. Robert E. Werner officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
