Verna M. Huber, 83, of Cape Girardeau passed away Thursday, Sept. 27, 2001, at the Lutheran Home.
She was born Nov. 22, 1917, daughter of Charles W. and Anna Springer Rahkopf. She and Edgar W. Huber were married in 1935. He preceded her in death in April 1975.
Mrs. Huber was a life member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau. She worked many years as a Iine operator at International Shoe Co., and retired as a seamstress from Ralph Edwards in 1973, both in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Charles W. and Judith Huber of Jackson, Mo.; a sister, Leona Fornkahl of Cape Girardeau; a sister-in-law, Virginia Rahkopf of Cape Girardeau; a grandson, David W. Huber of Cape Girardeau; a granddaughter, Teri L. Wingate of Montgomery, Ala.; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at the chapel, with the Rev. Douglas Breite officiating. Burial will be in Egypt Mills Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may be given in the form of memorials to Egypt Mills Cemetery Fund, Trinity Lutheran Church, or the Alzheimer's Association.
