Verna Mae Hanners, 74, of Burfordville died Sunday, April 10, 2005, at her residence.
She was born on April 18, 1930, in Millersville, daughter of Arvel and Mildred S. Hanners Cook. She and Roy "Bud" Hanners were married on Sept. 27, 1947, in Jackson.
Hanners was a member of Hurricane Fork General Baptist Church and was a Sunday school teacher. She worked for the Jackson School District as a cook, and for Sandy & Wayne's Hutch for many years.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Dwayne Hanners of Sedgewickville, Mo.; three brothers, Raymond and Oda Cook, both of Millersville, and Gary Cook of Burfordville.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, Mo.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hurricane Fork General Baptist Church, with the Revs. Jimmie Fulbright, Steve Sander and Mark Davis officiating. Burial will be in Cook Cemetery.
