Verna Mae Hanna, 69, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, June 28, 2004, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
She was born Feb. 8, 1935, at Allenville, daughter of Albert Martin and Meta Louise Lehne Hengst. She and William F. Hanna were married May 20, 1993, at Wickliffe, Ky.
Mrs. Hanna had owned and operated Spring Valley Farm at Egypt Mills. She was also a former union steward with International Textile Workers at Eli Walker Co. in Scott City.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Egypt Mills, and former organist, and member of Missouri League of Conservation Voters.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Rick Borchelt of Cambridge, Mass.; a sister, Barbara King of Alford, Texas; two brothers, Jack Weissinger of Cape Girardeau, Jerry Young of St. Ann, Mo.; two nieces, Sandra Fadler of Fredericktown, Mo., and Donna Hankins of Granite City, Ill.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Mark Martin officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery at Egypt Mills.
