Verna I. Gurley, 85, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Sikeston, Mo., died Wednesday, May 23, 2001, at the Lutheran Home.
She was born Sept. 30, 1915, at Matthews, Mo., daughter of Barney and Grace St.Clair Dubois. She and Ralph Gurley were married June 24, 1938, at Charleston, Mo. He died July 29, 1984.
Gurley was a cook at IGA Foodliner in Cape Girardeau, and had worked at International Shoe Co. in Sikeston.
Survivors include a son, Wade Gurley of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Judy Wright of Jefferson City, Mo., Pam Exler of Cape Girardeau; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter and a granddaughter.
Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the chapel. Mark Martin will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery at Sikeston.
