PATTON -- Verna G. Statler, 100, of Patton, died Wednesday, May 19, 1993, at Bond Nursing Care Center in Marble Hill. She was born Feb. 27, 1893, at Patton, daughter of George and Susie Shirley Grindstaff. She and Andrew Statler were married April 16, 1914. He died in December 1965...

PATTON -- Verna G. Statler, 100, of Patton, died Wednesday, May 19, 1993, at Bond Nursing Care Center in Marble Hill.

She was born Feb. 27, 1893, at Patton, daughter of George and Susie Shirley Grindstaff. She and Andrew Statler were married April 16, 1914. He died in December 1965.

Statler was a member of Patton Presbyterian Church and its Ladies Circle.

Survivors include two sons, Glenn Statler of Valley Park, Perry Statler of Lixville; a daughter, Grace Osburn of Patton; a sister, Jewell Rankins of St. Charles; 12 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, a daughter, two brothers, two sisters and a grandson.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Liley Funeral Chapel in Patton. The Rev. Stan Martin will officiate, with burial in Patton Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today.
