DONGOLA, Ill. -- Verna E. Medlin, 84, of Dongola, died Tuesday, March 14, 1995, at the home of a son in Dongola.
She was born Sept. 10, 1910, in Dongola, daughter of Will and Mary Smoot Coffman. She and Darwin Medlin were married Sept. 12, 1928. He died June 17, 1980.
Medlin was a Red Cross Bloodmobile volunteer. She attended First Lutheran Church and was active in the Willing Hands Group of the church, and was a member of American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include two sons, Wesley Medlin of Carbondale, Ronnie Medlin of Dongola; a brother, Roy Coffman of Cairo; five granddaughters, and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, daughter, three sisters and a brother.
Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Dongola from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, and Friday until service time.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Donald Poole officiating. Burial will be in Christian Chapel Cemetery.
