Verlia L. Cooper, 88, of Delta died Thursday, July 17, 2008, at her home. She was born Nov. 11, 1919, at Swinton, Mo., daughter of Arb and Mamie Hayden Cooper. Cooper attended Fairview General Baptist Church. She worked at Owens Illinois Glass Co. in Alton from 1942 to 1981...

Verlia L. Cooper, 88, of Delta died Thursday, July 17, 2008, at her home.

She was born Nov. 11, 1919, at Swinton, Mo., daughter of Arb and Mamie Hayden Cooper.

Cooper attended Fairview General Baptist Church. She worked at Owens Illinois Glass Co. in Alton from 1942 to 1981.

Survivors include a daughter, Wanda Bowers of Delta; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, three sisters, two infant grandchildren and two infant great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance, Mo.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Earl Elfrink officiating. Burial will be in Rock Point Cemetery near Swinton.
