EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. -- Verdeman Eugene "Brad" Kemp, 68, of East Prairie died Sunday, Oct. 9, 2005, at the East Prairie Nursing Center. He was born Sept. 3, 1937, in Kaiser, Ark., son of the late Tom and Beauton Riley Kemp Bowles. He and Cora May Nickell were married Nov. 6, 1971. She preceded him in death on July 22, 1973...

EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. -- Verdeman Eugene "Brad" Kemp, 68, of East Prairie died Sunday, Oct. 9, 2005, at the East Prairie Nursing Center.

He was born Sept. 3, 1937, in Kaiser, Ark., son of the late Tom and Beauton Riley Kemp Bowles. He and Cora May Nickell were married Nov. 6, 1971. She preceded him in death on July 22, 1973.

Kemp was a farm laborer and worked at the Community Sheltered Workshop in Sikeston, Mo. He was a member of the Full Gospel Church in East Prairie.

Survivors include several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Leland Kemp and Cletus Atkinson; and three sisters, Irene Riley, Sadie Kemp and Freda June Atkinson.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Shelby Chapel with Bro. Mike Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery.
