Vera Toll

MACON, Mo. -- Vera Agatha Toll was born May 8, 1904, at Wagner, S.D., the daughter of Julia (Couch) Otto and John Otto. She passed away Sept. 15, 2006, at Macon, Mo., at the age of 102 years, 4 months and 7 days.

She was united in marriage to Lee Toll on Dec. 19, 1924, at Chicago, Ill., and to this union three children were born.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Lee in 1980; five brothers; two sisters; and a grandson.

She is survived by her two sons, Jack Toll and wife Marty of Mountain View, Mo., and Benhard Toll and wife Norma of Macon; a daughter Mary (Betty) Birkhead and husband Jim of Overland Park, Kan.; 16 grandchildren including those from the Cape Girardeau area, Scott Toll, Lee Toll, Susan Crites, Christy Yount, Jackie Twidwell, Patti Raouf, Barb Cagle, Sandi Essner and Kiersa Dubenski; 18 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Sunday, Sept. 17, 2006, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 18, 2006, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Mountain View, Mo., with Father Ernie Marquart officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Mountain View under the direction of Duncan Funeral Home.
