CHAFFEE -- Vera Ellen Mangum, 98, of Chaffee died Tuesday, May 4, 1999, at Chaffee Nursing Center. She was born Oct. 20, 1900, at Magan Station, Ky., daughter of Jasper Newton and Iona Coleman Ford. She and Monroe Mangum were married April 17, 1938, in Helena, Ark. He preceded her in death...

CHAFFEE -- Vera Ellen Mangum, 98, of Chaffee died Tuesday, May 4, 1999, at Chaffee Nursing Center.

She was born Oct. 20, 1900, at Magan Station, Ky., daughter of Jasper Newton and Iona Coleman Ford. She and Monroe Mangum were married April 17, 1938, in Helena, Ark. He preceded her in death.

Mangum moved to Chaffee in 1984 from Matthews. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, three brothers, and two sisters.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee after 5 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church. The Rev. John Davis will officiate. Burial will be in Union Park Cemetery.
