CAIRO, Ill. -- Vera M. Lehning, 81, of Cairo died Thursday, Feb. 10, 2005, at her home. She was born Feb. 20, 1923, in Moenlebrack, Germany, daughter of R.R. and Klara Neumacin Lackermund. CAIRO, Ill. -- Vera M. Lehning, 81, of Cairo died Thursday, Feb. 10, 2005, at her home.

She was born Feb. 20, 1923, in Moenlebrack, Germany, daughter of R.R. and Klara Neumacin Lackermund. She married Fred Ent Lehning. Lehning and her husband owned Lehning's Pharmacy in Cairo. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Kyle Lehning of Nashville, Tenn.; and four grandsons.

Friends may call at Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo from 5 to 8 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Kelly Cox officiating. Burial will be in Spencer Heights Cemetery at Mounds, Ill.
