Vera Lange

Lou Vera Lange, 86 of Scott City died Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2014, at Ratliff Care Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Oct. 22, 1928, in Scopus, Missouri, to Fred and Mae Angle Schleinger. She married Willis E. "Shorty" Lange on Nov. 1, 1946, in Cape Girardeau. He preceded her in death Sept. 17, 1998.

She was a laundromat attendant at Service Four Inc. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Scott City and VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 6407 in Scott City.

She is survived by three sons, Fred (Sherry) Lange of Burfordville, Larry Lange of Scopus and Roy Lange of Scott City; three daughters-in-law, Vicki Lange, Dorothy Black and Tammy Sellers; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by two sons, Willis Lange Jr. and Wendel Lange; three brothers; and a sister.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Amick-Burnett Chapel in Scott City.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the chapel, with the Rev. Jeremy Sells officiating.

Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery in Scott City.
