CHARLESTON -- Vera Jones, 86, of Charleston died Tuesday, Aug. 11, 1998, at Miner Nursing Center.

She was born Oct. 14, 1911, in Macon, Miss., daughter of Grover and Emma McCloud Thomas. She married Brock Jones, who preceded her in death.

Jones was a member of Opportunity Church of God in Christ.

Survivors include four sisters, Mildred Morris and Alice Dixon of Charleston, Marjorie Leatherwood of Detroit, Mich., Shirley Smith of Chicago; and a brother, Sidney Dixon of Charleston.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Opportunity Church, with Elder Steve Betts officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Sparks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
