Vera Gusta Anderson Jackson, 95, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, Oct. 31, 1998, at The Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Dec. 2, 1902, at Jackson, daughter of William Grant Anderson and Nannie Hansel Anderson.
She married Horace Leo Jackson Aug. 17, 1923. He died July 28, 1982.
She was a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University and taught school 35 years in Southeast Missouri.
She was member of the First Presbyterian Church, Missouri State Teachers Association, Order of Eastern Star Chapter 450, National Retired Teachers Association, American Legion Auxiliary 158, Ford D Senior Citizens Club and the Southeast Missouri State University Alumni Association.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Arthur E. Jackson Jr. of Cape Girardeau; a son, Charles W. Jackson of Spokane, Wash.; two sisters, June McDowell and Jean McDowell, both of Jackson; seven grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
Service will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m., at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel, with the Rev. Brendan Dempsey officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park.
Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 5 to 7 p.m.
