DIEHLSTADT -- Vera Mae Ashmore, 85, formerly of Diehlstadt, died Wednesday, June 23, 1999, at Miner Nursing Center in Miner.
She was born May 16, 1914, in Arkansas, daughter of Thomas S. and Alice Johnston Arnold. She and Loy R. Ashmore were married Feb. 7, 1932.
Ashmore lived in the Diehlstadt area most of her life. She was a charter member of Diehlstadt General Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Carolyn Belk of Bertrand; a brother, Ellis Arnold of Rodeo, Calif.; three sisters, Lucille Hutcherson of Augusta, Ark., Mary Bricker of Manteca, Calif., Martha Mitchell of Lodi, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
Friends may call at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston after 5 p.m. Friday.
Funeral will be at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. The Revs. Raymond Hannah and Mark Odle will officiate.
Graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at St. Joe Cemetery in Russellville, Ark.
