VILLA RIDGE, Ill. -- Vera Lucille Lackey Parrott Albright of Cairo, formerly of Mounds, died Saturday, July 3, 1999, at her home. She was 77.
She was born June 17, 1922, at Olmsted, daughter of the late Alfred and Lucy Casper Lackey. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Cairo.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Chester Parrott, in 1978. She also was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, a sister and grandson.
She is survived by her husband, Fred Albright; eight daughters, Shirley Hite of Dongola, Donna Young of Yuma, Ariz., Ruth Hudson and Angela Dean, both of Mounds, Doris Spraggs of Jackson, Mo., Vickie Dover of Olmsted, Judy Hite of Cairo and Lisa Arnhart of Tamms; three sons, Chester Parrott Jr. of San Antonio, Texas, Larry Parrott of Yuma and Jerry Parrott of Benton, Ark.; two stepsons, Dana Albright of Arlington, Ky., and Tommy Albright of Mounds; 33 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and a step-great-grandchild.
Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the First Southern Baptist Church in Cairo.
Funeral will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with the Rev. Dean Heady officiating. Interment will follow in the National Cemetery in Mound City.
