Vera A. Gentry, 81, died Friday, Aug. 2, 1991 at the Bond Nursing Home in Marble Hill.
She was born in Southeast Missouri Sept. 10, 1909 to Mr. and Mrs. Charles Robert Young.
Gentry lived in Cape Girardeau for a number of years, but for the past year has lived at the nursing home. While living in Cape Girardeau, she worked as a waitress at various restaurants.
She was of the general Baptist faith.
Surviving are a son, Jerrold Harper of Lincoln Park, Mich.; a daughter, Marzie Haynes of Zalma; and 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. A brother, grandson, a granddaughter, and a great-granddaughter preceded her in death.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at McCombs Funeral Chapel in Jackson. Burial will be in Haynes Chapel Cemetery on Millersville Route.
Visitation will be held Monday from 5 to 9 p.m.
