Veneta Higgason, 87, of Henderson, Nev., died Saturday, Jan. 10, 1998, at her home. She was formerly of Cape Girardeau. She was born Aug. 14, 1910, near Jackson, daughter of Ed and Nora Johnson Lowes. She and Leon Higgason were married in November 1940. He died in 1989...

Veneta Higgason, 87, of Henderson, Nev., died Saturday, Jan. 10, 1998, at her home. She was formerly of Cape Girardeau.

She was born Aug. 14, 1910, near Jackson, daughter of Ed and Nora Johnson Lowes. She and Leon Higgason were married in November 1940. He died in 1989.

Survivors include a son, Wayne Higgason; a daughter, Peggy Cole, both of the Henderson area; a half brother, Leonard Lowes of Cape Girardeau; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, two brothers, a sister, and a half brother.

There is no visitation or service.

Palm Mortuary in Henderson is in charge of burial.
