Venah Mae Cobb, 91, of Millersville died Saturday, March 6, 2004, at the Monticello House in Jackson. She was born March 24, 1912, in Marquand, Mo., daughter of John and Mildred Brown Gibbs. She was raised by her stepmother, Johanna Wagner Gibbs, since she was 7 years old. She and Webster Cobb were married Dec. 24, 1936, at Glenallen, Mo. He died Nov. 11, 2002...

Venah Mae Cobb, 91, of Millersville died Saturday, March 6, 2004, at the Monticello House in Jackson.

She was born March 24, 1912, in Marquand, Mo., daughter of John and Mildred Brown Gibbs. She was raised by her stepmother, Johanna Wagner Gibbs, since she was 7 years old. She and Webster Cobb were married Dec. 24, 1936, at Glenallen, Mo. He died Nov. 11, 2002.

Cobb was a member of New Trace Creek Baptist Church in Bollinger County. She lived near Millersville for 55 years.

Survivors include one son, Morris Cobb of Millersville; one daughter, Janet Hill-Barnhart of Cape Girardeau; one brother, Carl Gibbs of Fredericktown, Mo.; one half sister, June Myers of Herculaneum, Mo.; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Kenneth Shoemaker officiating. Burial will be in New Trace Creek Baptist Cemetery.
