ULLIN, Ill. -- Velma Stewart, 89, of Ullin and formerly of Tamms died Sunday, May 28, 2000, at her home.
She was born July 27, 1910, at McCroy, Ark., daughter of William and Mattie Miller Vance. She and Eddie Lee Stewart were married in 1926.
She was a member of the Cape Bible Chapel in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include her husband of the home; four daughters, Ethel Spivey of St. Louis, Levetta McCraney of Cairo, Jackie Meadows and Sharon Koen of Tamms; two sons, Eddie Lee Stewart Jr. of St. Louis and Eugene Stewart of Dunsmuir, Calif.; 18 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a grandchild, a sister and a brother.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday until service time at Crain Funeral Home at Tamms.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Hal Greene officiating. Burial will follow at McCrite Cemetery.
