MARSTON, Mo. -- Velma Mae Reed, 68, of Marston died Thursday, Nov. 2, 2000, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Mo.
She was born April 26, 1932, near Marston, daughter of David and Lula Cotton Evans. She and Joseph Reed were married in September 1955.
Reed was a member of Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church and served as treasurer.
Survivors include her husband; four sons, David Evans of Fort Huachuca, Ariz., Anthony Reed of Piney River, Va., Keith Reed of the home, Vincent Reed of Marston; a daughter, Stephanie Harkins of Kansas City, Mo.; two brothers, George and James Evans of Chicago; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church. Jay Slaughter will officiate. Burial will be in Mason Cemetery at Point Pleasant, Mo.
Friends may call at the church from noon until service time.
Williams-Farr and Purnell Funeral Home at Howardville, Mo., is in charge of arrangements.
