CHAFFEE -- Velma A. Miller, 72, of Chaffee, died Monday, April 21, 1997, at Chaffee Nursing Center.
She was born March 30, 1925, in Chaffee to Earl E. and Essie Pearl McKnight Green. She married Art Miller. He died May 3, 1971.
She was a machine operator for 40 years at Florsheim Shoe Co. in Chaffee and taught at Head Start in Chaffee for five years.
Survivors include: one daughter, Brenda Held of Chaffee; one sister, La Vaughan Medley of Delta; two brothers, Earl Green of Clarksville, Ark., and George Green of Advance; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one sister.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral chapel with the Rev. Joe Payne officiating. Interment will be in Union Park Cemetery in Chaffee.
