BLOOMFIELD -- Velma May Evans, 85, of Bloomfield, died Wednesday, Oct. 30, 1991, at Dexter Memorial Hospital.
She was born March 1, 1906, in Mt. Vernon, Ill., daughter of David Woodrow and Elizabeth Coats Jackson. She married William Lawrence Evans in 1925, who died in August 1966. Evans attended the Christian Church here.
Survivors include three sons, Jim Evans of Bloomfield, Junior Evans of Puxico, Kenneth Evans of Houston, Texas; two daughters, Carros Worley of St. Charles, Maurene Box of Bloomfield; two brothers, Charles Jackson of Baytown, Texas, John Jackson of Dexter; two sisters, Pauline Acup and Betty Mosbey of Dexter; 17 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, three sisters and a brother.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery near Puxico.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today.
