MOUND CITY, Ill. -- Velma Edging, 89, of Mound City died Thursday, Feb. 11, 1999, at her home.
She was born Jan. 20, 1910, in Bardwell, Ky., daughter of John and Zora Harper Clark. She married Other W. Edging, who preceded her in death.
Edging lived in Cairo many years before moving to Mound City. She was a senior companion sitter 12 years with Shawnee Development in Pulaski and Alexander counties. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Howard Edging of Mound City; a daughter, Janace Grosbach of Richmond, Va.; a brother, Jack Clark of Caseyville, Ill.; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.
Friends may call at Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Beechwood Cemetery at Mounds.
