VELMA E. ETHERIDGE

Velma E. Etheridge, 86, 843 Morgan Oak, died Thursday, Aug. 6, 1992, at Cape Girardeau Nursing Center.

She was born Dec. 25, 1905, in Morrisonville, Ill., daughter of Ever D. and Alice Hantle Lund. She married Lester R. Etheridge Oct. 20, 1951, in St. Louis.

Etheridge worked at Sunshine Biscuit Co. in St. Louis. She moved here in 1966, and retired in 1967 from Idan-Ha Hotel. She was a member of First General Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband; two stepsons, Nelson Etheridge of St. Louis, Dalton Etheridge of Trenton, Tenn.; a brother, Ray Lund of Bridgeton; a half sister, Lorraine Hornes of Fenton; a stepgrandchild, and a great-stepgrandchild.

She was preceded in death by a stepson and half brother.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The Rev. S.S. Borum will officiate, with burial in Lorimier Cemetery.
