Velma "Juanita" Carlton, 100, of Scott City, died Sunday, March 1, 2015, at the Ratliff Care Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Nov. 6, 1914, in Illmo, Missouri, to Alfred Amzie and Nora Lena Etter Lambert.
She married William "Ralph" Carlton on June 5, 1931, in Cairo, Illinois.
She was a member of Cape South Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
She is survived by a son, Don (Doris) Carlton of Thebes, Illinois; a brother, Alfred (Violet) Lambert, Jr of Scott City; a sister, Rose (Henry) Walter of Scott City; five grandchildren, Don (Corby) Carlton Jr., Scott (Dawn) Carlton, Tom (Charlotte) Kelsey, Vicki Moore and Robert Kelsey; 11 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren and two great-great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Ralph Carlton; a daughter, Patricia Kelsey; a great-great granddaughter, Amelia Fisher; two brothers and three sisters.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Chapel in Scott City.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the chapel with Earl Norman officiating.
Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery in Scott City.
