ANNA, Ill. -- Mrs. Veda M. Pryor, 88, of Anna passed away at 5:50 a.m. Saturday, June 20, 2009, at Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter, Mo.

She was born Sept. 7, 1920, in Tennessee, daughter of William and Flora Stephens Medling. She and Elmer Harry Pryor were married May 18, 1943, in St. Louis. He preceded her in death Jan. 3, 1964.

Veda is survived by three children, Elmer Pryor and wife Barbara of Dexter, Janet Schildknecht of Anna, and Barbara Walshon and husband Scott of Santa Maria, Calif.; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elmer Harry Pryor; two brothers; and two sisters.

She was a member of Anna Church of Christ and retired from Florsheim Shoe Co. in Anna.

Friends may call after noon Monday until the funeral hour at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.

Funeral services for Mrs. Veda Pryor will be at 1 p.m. Monday, June 22, at the funeral home, with the Rev. R.W. McAlister officiating. Interment will be in Anna Cemetery.
