CAIRO, Ill. -- Vancil B. Bogle, 69, of Cairo, died Wednesday, June 5, 1991, at Daystar Care Center.
He was born Dec. 13, 1921, at Cairo, son of James D. and Vona Collins Bogle. He married the former Mary Elizabeth McLellan.
Bogle was a retired ironworker and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was a member of Cairo Baptist Church, Elks 651, VFW Post 2649, Masonic Lodge 237 AF&AM, Chapter 71 Royal Arch Masons, Commandery 13 Knights Templar and KIM Shrine Club, all in Cairo.
He was also a member of Ironworkers 782, Alexander-Pulaski County Sportsmen's Club, Ft. Massac Council 127 Royal and Select Masters, Ainad Shrine Temple in St. Louis, and was a York Rite Mason.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Patricia Cange of Mason, Ohio, Michele Sheible of Cairo; a brother, Mike Bogle of Houston, Texas, and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Tootsie Bogle; two sisters, Ruth Mosley and Grayce Speck.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Barkett Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Larry Potts will officiate, with burial in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens at Villa Ridge.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today.
