Valma J. Dye, 61, of Cape Girardeau, died Saturday, Nov. 29, 1997, at St. Francis Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 20, 1936, at Bloomfield, daughter of Raymond L. and Naomi Ruth Williams Duffey. She married Owen Dye Aug. 21, 1955, at Bloomfield.
She was employed at Bridgeport Realty for six years. She also volunteered with the American Red Cross, the American Heart Association, and the American Diabetes Association. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Jackson.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Jeffrey and Curtis Dye, both of Jackson; a daughter, Deborah Pickett of Metropolis, Ill.; a brother, Ray Duffey of Cape Girardeau; a stepbrother, Bill Collins of Bloomfield; three sisters, Wanda Risenhoover of St. Louis, Nelda Warrick of Bloomfield and Doris Blankenship of New Madrid; and four grandchildren.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today.
Service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jerry Culbertson officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park cemetery.
