SIKESTON, Mo. -- Valerie Jean Williams, 48, of Sikeston died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2007, at St. Francois Manor in Farmington, Mo.

She was born April 10, 1959, in Howardville, Mo, daughter of Earl and Rosie Williams.

Williams attended Sikeston schools. She was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Laketa and Tonia Williams of Sikeston, Ronetta Artis of Cape Girardeau; a son, Derrick Blackmon of Forrest City, Ark.; and her mother, Rosie Gilmore of Sikeston.

Also nine sisters, Francis Boten and Christine Mayo of Kansas City, Mo., Gertrude Armstrong of Grandview, Mo., Tammy Gilmore of Cape Girar-deau, Shun Gilmore, Charlette Lambert, Cynthia Gilmore and Earline Carter, all of Sikeston, Samona Maheia of Chicago; four brothers, Edward Williams of East Prairie, Mo., Earl Williams of Kansas City, Eugene Williams of Carton, Calif., Curtis Gilmore of Cape Girardeau; and 20 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. to service time Friday at Cornerstone Church.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the church, with the Rev. L.J. Nabors officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery at New Madrid, Mo.

Williams Funeral Home in Sikeston is in charge of arrangements.
