JACKSON -- Memorial service for Valerie Sylvia Garrison of Herrin, Ill., will be held at 6 p.m. today at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson. Msgr. Edward Eftink will officiate.

There is no visitation.

Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Garrison, 45, died Tuesday, Aug. 15, 1995, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Sept. 28, 1949, in St. Louis, daughter of Harold William and Dolores Louise Haegele Finke Sr.

Garrison received an associate degree in early childhood education from John A. Logan College. She was a preschool teacher in Southern Illinois and Western Kentucky a number of years.

Survivors include a daughter, Sonia Garrison of Carrboro, N.C.; a brother, Harold Finke of Swansea, Ill., and a sister, LaVonne Jones of Jackson.
